View Larger MapIn December 2007 the Founding Members of the Healthy Marketing Team did something a little bit special.

Boarding the plane in London we flew SAS to Stockholm before connecting to Kiruna – Sweden’s northernmost City and Airport, 90 miles north of the Arctic Circle.

In Kiruna, even the welcome signs are etched in ice!

After a short taxi ride our transportation for the next 3 days would be dog sled. Quite an experience because they only speed these incredible dogs know if full speed ahead.

On the first night we stayed in a deserted cabin where we had to create our own heat from the log fires we lit inside the log cabin itself. Next came the sauna and naked snow jumping. The hot cold sensation is prized by the Swedes. For us Brits it’s a little odd!

After more dog sled racing across massive frozen lakes we arrived in the relative luxury of the world famous Ice Hotel for night 2. A wonderful meal awaited us after we’d enjoyed some Absolut cocktails in the chapel-like Ice Hotel Bar. Bitterly cold, but so much fun and probably my most memorable hotel experience  from the many hundreds of hotel nights I’ve had over my years as an international consultant.
